I haveTrados and Dejavu and work with both. But I prefer Dejavu. I am
much faster when working with dejavu than in Trados.
One main difference between Trados and Dejavu: The support of Dejavu
ist excellent, fast and FREE!.
I have never tried theTrados Support, but they sent me a contract for
the support (several hundred DM) which I never signed.
Info: Dejavu: www.atril.com (here you can download a demoversion= full
Version, limited to 30 days.
With normal Word documents you can work fast with both programs, the
big difference comes when working with tagged files (pagemaker,
interleave, etc). In Trados you have the tags in your text all the
time, in Dejavu you will only see the text you translate.
Another big difference is, that in Dejavu filling your glossary is
easy- just mark both terms and klick one button. In Trados you have to
enter them manually in Multiterm, built the fuzzy index again, before
you can use them in Workbench.
I also like very much the possibility of working with Resource-files,
C++-files in Dejavu.
Dejavu offers more different formats to work with.
Kind regards
Judy Ann
As I was waiting for my Trados 5 upgrade to come (not yet), I found a list of
CAT tools, but without links, so I tried to find them and here it is:

The demo version of Déjà Vu contains a fully functional alignment utility. Even
more interesting is perhaps the fact that Cypresoft are giving away their
alignment utility, TRANS Suite 2000 Align, free of charge.
