Senior System Engineer
Product Development

KEY OBJECTIVE:
Collaborate with Oracle Japan Systems Product & Partner Solutions team to provide technical support to Oracle Japan internal SC and Japanese partners for Sun Systems hardware and software products.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Be the expert for the Sun Systems hardware and software products being worked on.
2. Work on support matrix to provide reliable combination information of Sun Systems hardware and software to Oracle Japan internal SC and Japanese partners.
3. Work on technical inquiries from Oracle Japan internal SC and Japanese partners to provide them timely responses in Japanese.
4. QA Work on new products in future to satisfy Japanese partner’s quality requirements.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE and TRAINING:

Required Skills
1. Strong technical skillset on any of below areas:
- For Sun Java System products including Web (Proxy) Server, Directory Server, Identity Manager, Messaging Server, Access Manager, Application Server
Good understanding of Sun Java System products and documentation.
Good knowledge of installation and setup of Sun Java System products.
Good understanding of the architecture of Sun Java System products and have technical presentation skill for those products.
- For Sun Studio, Ops Center, OVM
Good understanding of Sun Studio, Ops Center, OVM products and documentation.
Have technical presentation skill for those products.
- For Solaris 10
Good knowledge of installation and administration of Solaris, Solaris certification SCSA/SCNA is a strong plus.
Good understanding of Solaris functions.
Good knowledge of desktop environment such as X-Window System, GNOME, CDE.
2. Japanese Level 2 or above certification or equivalent, good written communication in Japanese.
3. Good spoken and written communicate in English.

Desired Skills
Technical experience on any of below areas is a strong plus:
- For Sun Java System products including Web (Proxy) Server, Directory Server, Identity Manager, Messaging Server, Access Manager, Application Server
Have sizing skill with combination of Sun Java System products and Systems Hardware products.
Good understanding of API specifications for Sun Java System products.
- For Sun Studio, Ops Center, OVM
Good knowledge of Sun virtualization products/function.
Have experience of compiling/debugging codes by using Sun Studio compilers.
Have experience of Ops Center on Sun Systems Hardware to confirm functions.
- For Solaris 10
Good understanding of the architecture of disk I/O interface.
Good knowledge of Solaris Network Stack.
Good knowledge of Sun Systems Hardware related function.

Experience Requirement
1. BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
2. Minimal 3+ years professional hardware or software technical experience.

Job Description
Job Summary:  
- Works in APAC Hardware Quoting and Configuration team for Oracle product quoting support to APAC wide internal sales force.
- Scope of responsibilities cover support for pre-sales configuration/quotation activities in APAC countries/regions.  And  provide technical advice and configuration instruction to partners.

Major Activities/Responsibilities:
- Delivers technical configuration/quotation to internal sales force. Provides a high level of customer satisfaction through the effective delivery of technical configuration support.
- Provides technical assistance to sales in identifying feasible system configurations
- Provides assistance in response to queries received daily
- Acts as an interface between sales and booking team, to ensure quotations can be successfully booked in time
- Has the ability to handle the customer complaint by following up the standard process
- Knows well about Oracle's business model, hardware/software products, technology and service

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Computer Science or Electronic Engineering.  Master degree is a plus.
- 3-5 years IT industry experience or above
- Generalist in technical areas. Specialized skills and experience on Oracle hardware/software are highly desirable
- Possesses good communication skills and customer interfacing skills
- Be fluent in English and Chinese. Good at Japanese or Korean is a plus
- Needs to be a self starter, capable of balancing workload and planning daily coverage
