Thanks for your suggestion. But what people say in the films or shows is a lot different from what people say in their daily life. Just like most of my classmates or school mates, it seems that they don't use the TV or movie slang when talking. That's why I found it tough to learn. Hard to catch a clue.

well, maybe you can pick up what they say in the daily life. that's another way of studying.
or, you can search some slangs in the internet. most of them is used widely.

Then I suggest you watch serial TV dramas close to daily life like desprete housewives in which people talk in a more common way. Besides, your learning English is to communicate with the foreigners not your classmates. ...or are you now living abroad?

It's not that easy for me to talk to any "friends" for me cos' I'm new to Canada and attending ESL class now. But anyways, thanks for any suggestions. I'll keep that in mind and try to make friends with natives.
