blow off = blow away/allow (steam, water,etc.) to escape forcibly放（汽、水等）
In the lightening I saw that the roof of the hut bad been blown off.
在闪电中，我看见棚屋的屋顶被掀掉了。

The surplus steam was blown off through the pipes.
多余的蒸汽通过管道放掉。

blow /let off steam = release pent-up feelings发泄一致的感情
Don't apologize for shouting at them; it does you good to blow off steam occasionally.
不要为对他们大声叫嚷而抱歉，偶尔发泄一下抑制的感情对你有好处。

Men and women  blow off steam  in a different way.Men may choose to play game or drink wine ,while women may  prefer to go shopping or make pigs of themselves or just have a good cry.
男人跟女人发泄情绪的方式有所不同。男人可能会选择玩游戏喝酒，而女人可能更倾向于去购物，大吃一顿，或者干脆大哭一场。

blow out = large or expensive meal<俚>盛宴
You should have seen the blow out we had for Christmas dinner.
你真应该看到我们圣诞宴会上吃的美餐。

Kevin was very ill after he took those pills that blew his mind.

The minister made a fairly innocent comment but the newspapers blew it up out of all proportion.
部长做了一番没有恶意的评论，但是报纸却把它渲染得面目全非。

strike a blow for /against = lend one’s support/act to oppose努力完成[争取]（反对）
The crowd pulled down the barriers and struck a blow for freedom.
那群人推倒了障碍物，支持为争取自由的斗争。
