get bogged down = become stuck, reach a deadlock/impasse（使）陷于困境、（使）停顿、（使）不能前进
The negotiations got bogged down in an argument about overtime rates.
谈判在讨论加班费用问题上陷入僵局。

boil
boil down to = amount to归结为
When it comes to buying a car it all boils down to price in the end.
讨论到买汽车的问题，归根到底是价格的问题。

Elizabeth seems to boil over for the slightest reason these days.

bolster up = give (moral) support给予（道义）支持
I need some more examples to bolster up my theory.
